Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Chinese company PowerChina began construction of a photovoltaic station (PV) with a capacity of 400 megawatts in Andijan region. The project cost is US$330 million.
The new station is expected to cover a third of the region’s electricity needs.
The project will be implemented in several stages. The launch of the first stage of the project with a capacity of 100 megawatts is scheduled for 1 April 2024. The project will be completed by the end of 2024.
The station will produce up to 700 million kWh of electricity per year. This will save 212 million cubic meters of gas and prevent the release of 294,000 tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
