Through videoconferencing, negotiations were held between the First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and the Deputy Minister of Trade of Turkey Gonca Yılmaz Batur, Dunyo IA reported.

During the online event, the results of six rounds of expert negotiations on the terms of signing an agreement on preferential trade between the countries were considered.

Particular attention was paid to the early completion of the formation of a shortlist of goods, in respect of which preferential conditions of market access will be provided on a reciprocal basis.

Taking into account the sensitive sectors of the economy, the interests of business and society, it was agreed on a parity basis to apply the modalities of granting preferences in mutual trade to selected types of goods. In particular, it provides for the application of a tariff quota, full and partial exemption from customs duties.

The parties agreed to complete the negotiation of the conditions for granting preferences for the selected goods by the end of this year and prepare the agreement for signing at the beginning of 2021.
