As previously reported, on 15-17 May, 2018 the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid an official visit to the United States of America. This visit of the President of our country and a meeting in the White House with the President Donald Trump opened new prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation and as noted in many publications that a new era of strategic partnership between the United States and Uzbekistan has been launched.

It should be noted that the President of the United States expressed his genuine interest and respect for the reforms aimed at strengthening the role of small business and private entrepreneurship in the country, and Trump praised the progress Uzbekistan has made in implementing important political, economic and social reforms under the leadership of President Sh. Mirziyoyev.

A package of documents aimed at further strengthening mutually beneficial ties in various fields was signed. In particular, the protocols on intentions to expand bilateral trade ties, cooperation in higher education and scientific research, agriculture and energy were adopted. A memorandum of understanding and cooperation with USAID to support Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO and the holding of the Central Asian Trade Forum in Tashkent in 2018 were signed. A memorandum on financing of joint projects was adopted between the National Bank for Foreign economic activity of Uzbekistan and the Export-Import Bank of the USA.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with World Bank President Jim Yong Kim. The head of our state held a conversation with our compatriots working in this international financial structure.

Today Uzbekistan cooperates with this bank in such areas as modernization of energy, irrigation and, development of transport and social infrastructure, processing of agricultural products. The joint program includes 27 important projects for implementation until 2020. Their total cost exceeds $ 4 billion, of which $ 3 billion is loans from the World Bank.

Analyzing the results of the visit, I would like to note the importance of the participation of business circles of the country - entrepreneurs and businessmen in the implementation of the planned tasks, UzLiDeP for its part mobilizes all forces to strengthen work with the electorate in this direction.

In this case, it is necessary to conduct explanatory work with the party’s electorate on important key agreements reached during the official visit of our President, as well as to help entrepreneurs and farmers produce high-quality products that meet world standards.

In general, this visit and its results impose new tasks on our party, the party should develop a new method of working with the electorate to implement the concluded agreements.

We, as a party of practical affairs, should in practice prove it once again.

The movement of entrepreneurs and businessmen – Liberal-democratic party of Uzbekistan and its electorate are pleased with the result of the visit and are aimed at realizing the goals.
