OGU 2019: High Level Goals and Promising Projects

The 23rd International Conference Oil and Gas Uzbekistan will be held on May 15 to 16 as part of the business programme of the 23rd International Exhibition Oil and gas Uzbekistan – OGU 2019. The event is organised by Iteca Exhibitions, with the official support from the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan and Uzbekneftegaz JSC. This year’s Conference will cover issues of Global Trends in Fuel and Energy Sector of Uzbekistan.
The Conference is aimed at discussion of the industry’s topical issues, expanding cooperation between the industry professionals across the world, learning about the latest technologies and development trends, prospects for cooperation and implementation of investment projects, as well as opening up new opportunities for cooperation between domestic and foreign oil and gas companies.
The Conference will host the leading experts and top management of the world’s largest oil companies, investors, representatives of government agencies, international banks, unions, associations, chambers of commerce, international financial corporations, and private companies that will present the world`s best practices which have proven their effectiveness.
The fact of participation of such distinguished guests as Joe M Kang, President of the International Gas Union (IGU); Ashok Bargawa, Director General of the ADB Energy Department for Central and Western Asia; Dr. Samir Sekhan, Executive Vice President of Air Products, and others is indicative of the high status of the forum.

On the first day of the Conference, May 15, the delegates will meet in Amir Temur Hall at the International Hotel Tashkent for the Plenary Session on New Vision for Oil and Gas Industry: Geopolitics. The Conference issues will include:

Atrium 2 Hall at Uzexpocentre NEC will host the second Conference day, May 16, which will be held in the format of six technical sessions on:
MTO technology in Uzbekistan: Innovative solutions for gas monetization; Major modernization for manufacture of natural gas chemical products using MTO technology in Uzbekistan; Petrochemical and gas-to-chemicals industries in Uzbekistan: major modernization and new challenges; Investment attractiveness of Uzbekistan; Modernization of gas transmission system in Uzbekistan; Utilization of international consulting companies’ oil and gas industry development experiences.
Today, the key oil and gas industry priorities include deep conversion of raw hydrocarbons with manufacture of high value-added products, expansion of export geography, and attracting investments. These issues will be of particular focus during the technical meetings at the Conference; one of the key topics which the first three technical sessions of the Conference will be devoted to is Methanol to Olefins Technology (MTO). In this regard, the experiences of foreign companies in this field are very important for Uzbekistan. According to the task set by the Government of Uzbekistan that involves development of projects for construction of gas chemical facilities for manufacturing high value-added products, a number of solutions and concepts will be presented at the Conference, with expert opinions presented on implementation of these projects.
The current favourable investment climate in Uzbekistan lays the groundwork for the implementation of large-scale projects covering deeper conversion of raw hydrocarbons and mastering manufacture of new types of products based on global trends. In this context, the dialogue held between the industry experts within the framework of the traditional Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan International Conference will contribute to the further research-industry collaboration, attracting investments, and increased industrial and export capacity of the sector.
